Crain's Recognizes Ollivate Cofounder as a Notable Leader in Health Care

Today, Crain's Detroit Business named Ollivate cofounder Dr. Joshua Olson to its 2026 list of Notable Leaders in Health Care, one of 33 Southeast Michigan honorees recognized for reshaping how care gets delivered, taught, and accessed across the region.

We couldn't be more honored or, frankly, less surprised.

Anyone who knows Josh knows exactly why he’s on the list. As Program Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program at the University of Detroit Mercy, he’s spent years championing a more modern approach to healthcare education; one grounded in simulation, strengthened by technology, and centered on the people doing the work. His leadership covers curriculum design, accreditation, faculty development, and student outcomes. His students consistently graduate ready to step into one of the most demanding specialities in medicine.

That same conviction to elevate learning for health care students and workers is what drives our vision at Ollivate.

CRNAs, SRNAs, and broader care teams deserve continuing education that respects their expertise and their time. That meets them where they are, supports how they actually learn, and helps them keep growing throughout their careers. That belief has shaped Ollivate from day one, and it’s the north star Josh continues to set our product and educational strategy against.

Crain’s recognition is a meaningful affirmation of that work. The 2026 cohort spans hospital systems, research institutions, educators, and community health leaders tackling some of the hardest problems in healthcare today: from access and affordability to clinical innovation. Being named alongside them is a signal that healthcare education is, at last, being recognized as part of how the industry moves forward.

Congratulations, Josh! The Ollivate team is incredibly proud and excited to be building this with you. To every CRNA, SRNA, and educator who has shared their time, feedback, and trust with us along the way: thank you. This recognition belongs to that broader community as much as it does to any one of us.
