Later this week, members of the Alabama Association of Nurse Anesthetists will converge in Miramar Beach, Florida for the ALANA Spring Meeting 2026.

While it may be tempting to walk along the beach, attendees will be rather busy, as the multi-day event is packed with 23 unique sessions, with topics ranging from wellness & purpose to the latest innovations. Indeed, Ollivate’s very own Joshua Olson, DNP, CRNA is leading three of the sessions during the event!

New Drugs, New Rules: What Suzetrigine and Remimazolam Mean for CRNA Practice

At 7am on Sunday, Josh will discuss the latest drug developments, exploring what happens when we achieve analgesia without opioids and what it means to have sedation that wears off faster than propofol. The session will explore emerging agents like suzetrigine and remimazolam, focusing on mechanisms, clinical implications, and how they may reshape everyday practice for CRNAs.

Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare: Is ChatGPT coming for your job?

At 8am on Sunday, Josh is discussing the elephant in every room: AI. Artificial intelligence is already changing how we learn, make decisions, and deliver care. While AI won’t replace CRNAs, the CRNAs who understand it might surpass those who don’t. This session will explore what that really looks like in anesthesia practice, education, and decision making.

No Scripts, No Slides: A CRNA Leadership Roundtable Discussion

At 9am on Sunday, Josh will moderate a roundtable discussion with CRNA leaders. Topics will include AAs, education, AI, current trends, and the future of anesthesia practice. Don’t miss this candid and thought-provoking session!

If you’re attending the ALANA Spring Meeting, make sure to say hello! Otherwise, we hope to see you at another CRNA event throughout the year. As always, refer to the AANA events page or your local association’s website for the events near you! Attending events like these is wonderful for advancing your knowledge, expanding your network, and elevating your field.
